This book was just sheer pleasure to read. It has all of the right ingredients — a likable, yet complicated heroine, a love story, lots of scandal, great friendships, and to top it all off — celebrity gossip! Evelyn Hugo is a beautiful movie star who’s life, loves and movies (in that order!) have captivated audiences for decades. Nearing 80, she has decided to finally share her story and she’s hand-picked Monique Grant to write it. Most of the book is about Evelyn and is told through her interview sessions, but it’s also a story of the two women and their developing relationship. This is a really enjoyable book and I love how Taylor Jenkins Reid tells a story. The writing is beautiful and it will pull at your heartstrings as you fall in love with these lovely, flawed characters. Highly recommended. 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
